The surgical department possesses 10 stationary beds (one 4-beds room, one 3-beds room and 3 apartments). The surgical personal is consist of four surgeons that are full time employed (one thoracic surgeon, one abdominal surgeon, one orthopedic surgeon and one urological surgeon, so and nine nurses for implementation of an appointed therapy and patients nursing. Till now, about 1000 surgical operations are done from the simplest to the most complicated ones. In the field of abdominal surgery with application of an ultra modern equipment and surgical techniques are done all surgical procedures in the abdominal surgery leaded by Mr. Hadzi-Mančev Mane M.D., Head of Surgical Department in Re-Medika, the specialist of general and abdominal surgery for a long time. In the wide range of surgical procedures the laparoscopic surgery is used as a routine surgical technique from the beginning of Re-Medika owing to a long time experience of Mr. Hadzi-Mančev Mane M.D., who has been practicing the laparoscopic surgery from 2000 with a great success. Only in Re-Medika hernia repairs with Prolen Hernia System nets are done by Mr. Hadzi-Mančev Mane M.D., the method introduced in the world in 2000 and in 2003 is introduced in ReMedika by our surgeon with over 250 successful interventions done until now. In Re-Medika all abdominal surgical interventions are done including: Surgical hernia repair of all kinds, holecystectomies (laparoscopic and classical galls), appendectomies (appendix), surgical treatment of echinoccosis, surgical treatment of tumors on a large intestine, gaster, small intestine, ileuses, hemorrhoids, splenectomies and number palliative operative treatments and outpatient interventions. There, the following consultant and diagnostic procedures are done: complete infective screening (urine culture, sperm culture, urethral smear, Chlamydia confirmation, HPV); screening of prostate carcinoma — tumor marker PSA determination and trans-rectal ultrasound of prostate, with prostate biopsy (TRUS—biopsy); uroflowmetry; male erectile dysfunction treatment; diagnostics of male infertility in cooperation with the IVF department; complete diagnostics of an urinal calculosis; cystoscopy; Placement of urethral and J-J probes, conservative treatment of prostate carcinoma (antiandrogen therapy) and tumor in bladder (intra-vesicule installation of BCG and Mytomycin). The repairing procedures are consist of: minimal invasive treatment of renal calculus using ESWL (a device for scraping of renal calculus), endoscopic treatment of ureteral calculus (ureteroscopy with lithotripsy), endoscopic treatment of calculus in bladder. Transurethral surgery — Transurethral resection of tumor in bladder and transurethral resection of prostate and incision for relief of urethral stricture — internal urethrotomy. Laparoscopic procedures — laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, laparoscopic treatment of stenosis in urethropenile. Classical procedures — open surgical procedures: nephrectomy simplex; radical nephrectomy; radical prostatectomy; correction of stenosis in urethropenile; ureterocystostomy.
